Concrete Pads
A perimeter fence line was laid out before setting up shuttering for 6 concrete pads. These will, at a later date, create the bases for the animal shelters. The remaining, surrounding area will be reseeded by university staff at a later date.
Once the concrete pads were completed our team battled the rain and mud to install perimeter fencing. This consisted of 1.8m high rabbit netting buried in a trench to 300mm leaving 1.5 above the ground. Two sides were further clad with featheredge to screen the space off from a neighbouring dog exercise area. The team also laid both a gravel and concrete sections of path to enable easy access to shelters. A seventh concrete pad was laid at the entrance gate which will house a shelter for students to use if needed.
