Planting – Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate Part 2
Hares, mud and whip planting.
Local primary school Millside Spencer Academy teaches forest school as part of their curriculum so when Stanford Hall approached them to see if some of their students would like to come and help with some of the woodland planting works taking place on the estate, they jumped at the chance!

GIANT MUDDY PUDDLE
This was a great opportunity for the children to get stuck in planting trees on the estate, while also learning about the process. Greenfields team members spent the morning sharing their knowledge and speaking to the children about how to receive and check plants, selecting the right species for the right spot, and ensuring its protection from wildlife and weather damage. After this the children got involved in planting whips, staking and adding tree guards. There was also plenty of opportunity to spot local wildlife, and of course, find the muddiest area to jump around in!
